SUPOTH was founded in 1991 by the help of Bangladesh Lutheran Mission—Danish (BLM-D), Bangladesh Lutheran Church (BLC) and the World Renew Bangladesh (WR). The term of SUPOTH (support for underprivileged people to organize themselves ) and in Bengali means “right way” or “good path.” Organization works to help the rural poor in Northern part of Bangladesh along this `good path’ of development, irrespective of religious, race, or caste..

Vision:
To build a self-reliant peaceful society where they ensure opportunity to develop their own potential for the privileged to themselves.
Mission:
To bring socio-economic and cultural development to underprivileged people to organize themselves and encourage sustainability for self-reliance through building people’s institutions to strengthen human rights culture.
Goal:
To build a peaceful society where ensure dignity with justice.
Strategy:
SUPOTH promote self-help groups to achieve independence. They are encouraged to find creative business solution, write their group minutes and financial records, monitor their children weight and nutrition and community based health care.
SUPOTH belief two components based working style. One is Poverty Eradication & Empowerment of poor people and another is facilitating to take part in SUPOTH development process considering organizations goal & objectives. We emphasize the community participation and capacity building approach.
The characteristics of its working strategies are to act as sensitizing part to empower poor and powerless community people.
